The American Revolution was a battle of freedom between the American Colonists, and the British soldiers.
How Were The African Americans Treated?
The slave of the house lived with the people they worked for, but did most of the work around the house. Not many of the slaves were allowed to have a family, marry, own property, or argue in court. There were around 450,000 African Amercians that were enslaved during the Revolutionary War just within the thirteen colonies. During the Battle of Bunker Hill, about five percent of the soldiers were African American.
